4-Year-Old Girl Found Alive After Days Trapped With Deceased Family
On May 2, a four-year-old girl named Promise was found alive in a Bronx apartment, surviving on chocolate after her mother, Lisa Cotton (38), and 8-year-old brother, Nazir, were found dead. The discovery was made by Lisa’s eldest daughter, who went to check on them after not hearing from her mother.
Lisa’s father, Hubert Cotton, had also been trying to reach her for days without success. Inside the apartment, Nazir was found unresponsive, and Lisa’s body was nearby. Promise was discovered on the bed eating chocolate and was later taken to the hospital in stable condition. She now lives with her grandfather.
Neighbours hadn’t seen Lisa in over two weeks, but there were no strong odours or signs of forced entry. Police had visited the home earlier but didn’t find cause for alarm. The cause of Lisa and Nazir’s deaths remains unknown as investigations continue.
