How about this early ‘Supernatural’ promotional photo featuring Ackles and Padalecki? If I had to guess, I would say that the photo-shoot was likely done for a publication shortly after the actors were cast as the Winchesters.
Also, notice that the car in the photograph is a 1965 Impala 2-door hardtop. Whoever did the photograph likely had been given the premise of ‘Supernatural’ and were told that the Winchesters would be traveling all over the United States in a “vintage Impala”. Therefore, they simply brought in a vintage Impala for the shoot.
