New poll reveals surprising amount of people who want Donald Trump to be impeached

A new poll has revealed that Donald Trump’s unpopularity with a surprising amount of people in favor of the president’s impeachment.
Trump considered as the third president to ever be impeached by the House of Representatives for allegations of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, and is the first POTUS in US history to be impeached twice.

Trump was first impeached in December 2019 for reportedly attempting to provide military assistance to Ukraine in exchange for an inquiry into his political rival, Joe Biden, over the phone with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He was acquitted in February 2020 following a Senate trial.

Following the Capitol riots on January 6, Trump was charged with instigating an uprising against the government, which led to the unraveling of his second impeachment. Additionally, he was exonerated of this accusation in February 2021.

A startling number of respondents would favor another impeachment, according to a recent poll.

Nearly half (46 percent) of likely voters in swing Congressional districts in 2026 support impeachment of Trump, with 45 percent expressing “strong support” for the measure, according to a Lake Research Partners poll commissioned by Free Speech For People.

56 percent of respondents also expressed disapproval of Trump’s performance as president.

The polling firm said in a statement: “It is remarkable and, as far as we know, unprecedented for such a large proportion of voters in swing districts to support impeachment of a president in the first year of their term.”

The numbers coincide with the identification of 25 grounds for impeaching the president by constitutional attorneys leading the Impeach Trump Again movement. These grounds include some of the following:

Trump ‘threatens wa:r’ and uses military force in US cities
Trump ordered the National Guard to take to the streets to combat crime and expel the homeless from the city throughout the summer, so directing a federal takeover of local police in Washington, D.C.

He shifted his focus to Chicago a month later, threatening that the city would “find out” why he had renamed the Department of Defense to the Department of War.

After backlash, Trump later clarified his position, stating: “We’re not going to war. We’re going to clean up our cities.”

‘Scooped out’ federal agencies and ‘atta:ck’ on adversaries

Additionally, the group claims that Trump has destroyed important government agencies that are impartial, such the government Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Justice, and transformed them into “tools of oppression and of his own agenda.”

The POTUS, who had stated that he wanted “him out” for not pursuing charges against two of Trump’s political rivals, former FBI director James B. Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James, most recently forced federal prosecutor Erik Siebert to leave.

Trump then declared appointing his former defense attorney Lindsey Halligan, who has no experience into the role, to replace Siebert.
He also publicly urged his Attorney General Pam Bondi to prosecute his rivals, including James, Comey and Senator Adam Schiff.

Given the president’s long-standing conflict with Comey, who oversaw an investigation into Trump’s campaign connections to Russia while serving as FBI director, critics saw the case as an act of “reve:nge.”

James, meanwhile, is accused of mortgage fraud, even though investigators were unable to discover enough proof to back up the accusation.

James made the move after successfully suing Trump for civil fraud last year.
