Drama erupts as Donald Trump attends ‘Les Misérables’

On June 11, just days before his 79th birthday, Donald Trump and Melania attended Les Misérables at the Kennedy Center, marking his first visit since controversially firing much of its leadership and criticizing its “woke” programming.

Some cast members boycotted the show in protest, and some ticket holders donated seats to drag performers to highlight a drag ban at the venue.

During the performance, Trump faced mixed reactions—boos, cheers, and chants. A woman shouted accusations calling him a “convicted felon” and “rapist,” and others yelled profanities. Trump responded by pumping his fist in the air, echoing a previous defiant gesture.

Many found the irony of Trump watching a musical about uprising against tyranny while sending troops to control protests striking. Social media was full of reactions criticizing and mocking his appearance.
