Mac was diagnosed with a rare form of
known as Chordoma on August 8, 2018, just three months after his mother was diagnosed with stage three breast .

Mac’s illness continued to worsen over the years, slowly taking away his ability to move. While his mother’s treatment was successful, his condition only became harder with time.

His father, Gary, shared the deep pain of losing his son. He said that it is very difficult for any parent to lose a child, and his heart is with all families who have gone through the same loss.

“Our family’s fight with cancer lasted five and a half years, and it became more difficult as time went on. Even though we miss him deeply, we find comfort knowing that Mac is no longer suffering. He showed great strength in his battle with a disease that has no cure, and he never gave up,” Gary wrote.
