In a heartfelt Facebook post, the 72-year-old actor revealed that he was diagnosed in the fall of 2018. He underwent six months of hormone treatments at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, followed by robotic laparoscopic surgery in 2019. Despite the seriousness of the procedure, Beaver described his recovery as “remarkably free of pain,” praising his wife Sarah Spiegel for her support during the challenging time.
Reflecting on his journey, Beaver emphasized the importance of early detection. Though he had undergone regular exams and genetic testing showing low risk, his aggressive cancer was caught early enough to prevent spreading. Today, three and a half years after surgery, he reports being in full health, with doctors confirming he is in “astonishingly good health” for his age.
