Get Ready! Jensen Ackles’s New Thriller Series “Countdown” Starts Filming Soon, More Details in Comments!

Hold onto your hats, “Supernatural” and “The Boys” fans, because Jensen Ackles is gearing up for his next big role, and it’s coming sooner than you think! Ackles will be starring in “Countdown,” a new thriller series for Prime Video, and the cameras are set to start rolling next month.

From “Supernatural” Conventions to the “Countdown” Set:

This past weekend, Ackles was busy with his “Supernatural” family at Creation Entertainment’s “The Road So Far… The Road Ahead” event in Austin, Texas.

But amidst the fan Q&As and heartwarming reunions with co-stars Jared Padalecki and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Ackles dropped a major bombshell: he’s starting work on “Countdown” in just two weeks.
“Ackles shared that he will be starting working on the Prime Video series in about two weeks,” reports Ray Flook of “Bleeding Cool.”

Even with a conservative estimate of “two weeks,” that puts filming right in line with what Ackles’s co-star Eric Dane had previously revealed.

Eric Dane Confirms September Start Date:

Dane, who plays veteran FBI agent Nathan Blythe in “Countdown,” shared in an interview earlier this month that filming would begin in September.

“‘Yeah, I’m starting a show in September called ‘Countdown’ for Amazon. It’s a very cool concept,'” Dane said.

He also expressed his enthusiasm for the cast, saying, “‘They’re getting really good actors. And from what I understand, good people. You spend 15 hours on a set with somebody; let’s make sure they’re up to snuff. Because I’ve worked with some scoundrels, and it’s not fun, dude.'”

“Countdown” promises to be a gripping thriller that follows LAPD officer Mark Meachum (Ackles) as he’s recruited into a secret task force investigating a suspicious murder. The team is made up of undercover agents from various branches of law enforcement, each with their own secrets and agendas.

“But as the truth of a more sinister plot comes into focus, the team must overcome their conflicting personal agendas to unite and save a city of millions,” writes Flook.

A Stellar Cast: From “Supernatural” to “Euphoria”

Alongside Ackles and Dane, “Countdown” features a talented cast, including Jessica Camacho (“S.W.A.T.”), Violett Beane (“God Friended Me”), Uli Latukefu (“Young Rock”), and Elliot Knight (“The Boys”).

From “Chicago” to “Countdown”: Derek Haas’s New Venture

“Countdown” is the first project for creator and showrunner Derek Haas since his departure from Wolf Entertainment, where he worked on NBC’s successful “Chicago” franchise.

Haas has a lot riding on this new series, and with a strong cast and an intriguing premise, “Countdown” has all the ingredients for a hit.
